The Secretary of Street Mobilization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Nahum Fernández, announced the activation of the National Agenda for Peace, to take place from this Thursday, January 22 to Sunday, January 25.
During a videoconference, Fernández highlighted that this January 23 will commemorate the 68 years of the overthrow of the dictatorship of Marcos Pérez Jiménez. “We remember that historical milestone where, in civil-military union, our democracy was restored. We are going to raise our voices before the world on World Freedom Day,” he stated.
Solidarity and social care days
The leader reported that the days of collecting letters will continue for those who wish to send messages of love and solidarity to the presidential couple. Likewise, he highlighted the beginning of activities with older adults: “We are going to continue with the demonstrations of love throughout the country; today we begin with the grandfathers and grandmothers of the Homeland.”
Within the framework of this agenda, a historic deployment is planned in 47,000 communities nationwide during the weekend, with the aim of strengthening social care at the bases.
Support for the management of Delcy Rodríguez
Finally, Fernández referred to the national situation after the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores. In this regard, he indicated that the people will remain mobilized in the streets to demand his release and repudiate the acts of violence.
Likewise, he ratified his strong support for the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, who has assumed leadership of the nation in the face of recent events.
