The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, rejected this Monday that the British justice insisted on denying last Friday the Venezuelan State’s request for access to the Republic gold reserves that have been held in the Bank of England since 2019.
“If the Malvinas Islands were stolen, what else can you expect? They are pirates on the open sea. Those decisions are not going to stop us from recovering Venezuelan gold by any means because those are sentences agreed upon between them, they cannot do anything without permission from the US,” he said.
He assured that this gold will soon arrive in Venezuela, while denouncing that the United Nations (UN) is in charge of certifying media campaigns about Venezuela.
“We hope that these decisions can be reversed and that the gold is delivered to the Venezuelans. They cannot do anything that the United States does not authorize them to do, that gives us strength to know who we are facing and fighting with,” said Diosdado Cabello.
“We have been fighting against those imperial interests all our lives and here is Venezuela standing up, firm and fighting, not only its leaders but its People. Venezuelans know that this gold will arrive in the country sooner rather than later. It is not surprising that at any time they come around requesting anything that we have here and that is when we are going to remind them of all (…) all the damage they have done to our country ». He added that in Venezuela there is a “government legitimate that Nicolás Maduro presides and the rest is comical, “he said.
Warning to the oil companies
Cabello also referred to the case of international oil companies seeking to take Venezuelan oil.
He reiterated that the State It owes nothing to the transnational oil companies that are returning to the country to export crude oil, quite the opposite.
“They are somehow tactical alliances, but we set the conditions,” said Cabello at the weekly press conference of the red awning.
