PSUV statement

Below is the full text of the release from the PSUV:

The United Socialist Party of Venezuela condemns in the most forceful way the actions of fascist groups, followers of former President Bolsonaro, who assaulted the headquarters of the three public powers in Brasilia.

We express our full solidarity with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, with the Brazilian people, with the Brazilian Workers’ Party (PT) and with all the democratic forces, which recently won an exemplary victory in the presidential elections.

Brazilian democracy is in danger. The fascist right tries to ignore the result of the elections last October, in which President Lula was victorious.

These fascist groups place themselves outside of legality and constitutional precepts, and in our region they promote and carry out coups, such as the one that overthrew Evo Morales, they have attempted assassinations against President Nicolás Maduro and Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, and they are generators of violence.

We call on all parties and social movements in Latin America and the Caribbean to speak out against this blow of fascism.

Long live the people of Brazil!

Solidarity with our Brazilian brothers!

United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV)
