PS will take Senator Fidel Espinoza to the Supreme Court after accusing ministers Tohá and Uriarte of “lobbying”

The board of directors of the Socialist Party, headed by its president, Paulina Vodanovic, warned that they will take Senator Fidel Espinoza to the Supreme Court of the community after a series of statements against the Government, accusing a “lobby” by State ministers in the election of the next national prosecutor.

The parliamentarian described as “scandalous the lobbying that certain ministers of State are doing in the Senate for the issue of the appointment of National Prosecutor”, referring to the secretaries of State Carolina Tohá and Ana Lya Uriarte.

Said statements were not liked at all within the Socialist Party, for which reason Vodanovic announced that “the time has come for the Supreme Court of the party to hear about the constant conduct of personal attacks on different people in politics by Senator Espinoza.”

“Being a parliamentarian who has been in Congress for so many years, he should know that the Executive is a co-legislative body, therefore, the presence of ministers is common,” added the PS leader.

On the other hand, and through a public statement, the Socialist Party maintained that “the accusations against the ministers Carolina Tohá and Ana Lya Uriarte lack any foundation, since their presence in the National Congress is due to the exercise of their functions.”

Likewise, they conclude that Espinoza’s statements “are completely alien to the PS’s policy, both in their offending and inconsiderate form, and in their content that violates the dignity and honor of the affected ministers, against which we express our disagreement.”
