The comfortable victory of the Rejection in the constitutional plebiscite generated a fracture in the Christian Democracy (DC): the president of the community, Philip Delpin, resigned this Wednesday and 600 DC leaders and militants requested, through a letter, the resignation of the entire board of directors. The senator and third vice president of the party, Yasna Provostereplied that “the table is not going to leave the mandate for which we were elected.”
Let us remember that the National Board of the DC decided to support the Approval. In that sense, the letter from the group of militants points out that the directive took the party “down the wrong path” and that the forcefulness of Sunday’s results indicates that the community is on “the wrong path of history.”

In the framework of the DC National Council, continued after Delpin’s resignation, Provoste responded to the letter. “I think that there is no one here in DC who does not think that after the elections a deep reflection is imposed, but that is serene and respectful of diversity,” said the legislator, slogan Third.
“Perhaps there are those who prefer to stay in the short term, in a desire that perhaps they keep silent and that now they externalize it. That is why I think it is very important to point out and value the decision that has been made by the majority of the table in which the institutionality has to be the axis in which the task of this party is circumscribed, “he added.
“I want to tell you that those who want to put their energy into another process, there are those who want to do it, (but) with all clarity, the table is not going to leave the mandate for which we were elected and therefore we will continue in this process,” Provost continued.
Along these lines, he said that “we have already defined a clear itinerary for the renewal of different structures of our party, including the Supreme Court, the council itself and later the renewal of the territorial structures.”
“Our challenge is to go from criticism to the alternative proposal of a model of society and this is not done by isolating ourselves, it is not done with our own path, it is not done inspired only between four walls, we need to dialogue without losing sight of where we are we are on track”, said the DC legislator.
“Hopefully those people who are only motivated by an inconducive reflection, a Byzantine ideological debate, really let those who, like the table does, like our regional presidents do, like the vast majority of militants, who have on the horizon a better space so that the families of our country can develop in better living conditions”, he added.
After Delpin resigned from the presidency of the DC, the first vice president of the collectivity, Aldo Mardoneswas ratified as interim president.
