A total of 14 people apprehended last Wednesday, October 12, during operation ‘Water’, were granted a precautionary measure of provisional detention, after a guarantee hearing held this Friday, October 14.
Also, they were charged with the alleged commission of the crimes of assembly and conspiracy to commit crimes related to drugs, money laundering, corruption of public officials, smuggling and customs fraud.
According to the Public Ministry, three other people remain under prior provisional detention for the alleged commission of other crimes, while the measure of periodic reporting was applied to another of those linked.
The Drug Prosecutor of Herrera and Los Santos, Javier Franco, explained that information was received of the existence of a criminal group that was dedicated to the reception, trafficking, transfer and storage of illicit substances that; In addition, he used phone calls, chats to coordinate his illicit activities, as well as coordinate the collection of money from illicit drug-related activities.
It is worth mentioning that this judicial intervention was carried out in the provinces of Herrera, Los Santos, Coclé and Panama.
