After the guarantee control hearing was held for a 21-year-old man for animal abuse, the Early Decision and Litigation Section of the Chiriquí Prosecutor’s Office managed to charge charges for the crime against domestic animals.
This is Ariel Alexis Ardines, who on May 8 in the Alanje district killed a cat that he later set on fire while laughing at the fact, while being recorded by an acquaintance.

The animal protection groups trust that the authorities will bring down the full weight of the law for this young man who, according to psychologists, has a worrying behavior, which if not controlled now could trigger harm to a person in the future.
Maryory Portillo, spokeswoman for the Colitas SOS organization, said that with this apprehension they hope that progress will continue with the defense of animals, in addition to the enforcement of Law 70 on animal protection.
