In order to put greater control over compliance with the program Prices Carethe Secretary of Domestic Trade led by Matías Tombolini will be able to enter into collaboration agreements with provinces and municipalities.
This, in order to carry out inspection tasks in the commercial establishments attached to the programsince one of the biggest shortcomings of Prices Care is that some businessmen do not comply with what was agreed with the Government, especially in terms of supply.
With that, The Government also seeks to avoid “speculative maneuvers”, that is, price marking about the products that are part of Prices Carea list of 450 articles in different areas.
The measure was arranged by the Ministry of Economy, in charge of Sergio Massa. Said norm establishes that: “Infractions committed in the provinces and that exclusively affect the trade of their respective jurisdictions will be judged in the administrative headquarters by the organisms determined by each one of them.”
In addition, “the adhering local entities will exercise their functions in accordance with the technical guidelines established by the Ministry of Commerce, which will provide the technical assistance and cooperation that are required for the correct inspection, control, violation and implementation of the program.”
The Government assured that this measure is implemented not only with the aim of monitoring compliance with the program by businessmen, but also to take care of the finances of Argentine households, which are affected day by day with the repricing of prices.
“It is necessary to promote joint and coordinated actions between the National Government, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, the Provincial Governments and their respective Municipalities, in order to take care of the pockets of Argentines, controlling the speculation that is generally transferred to the price of basic products, affecting the most vulnerable and unprotected sectors of the population“, they indicated.
Businesses that fail to comply with the program will be fined
The regulation also establishes that those establishments in which they fail to comply with what was agreed within the Program will be fined, in accordance with the rules established by the Ministry of Internal Trade.
“The violations that give rise to the application of fines and their graduation for non-compliance with the Care Prices program, when applied by local authorities, will be based on the guidelines established by the resolutions of the Ministry of Commerce.”
