Protests against Dina Boluarte: PNP General announces operations to control protesters

Following the announced protests against President Dina Boluarte in Lima, the Chief of Staff of the National Police, Oscar Arriola, announced that he will intervene and inspect vehicles entering the capital, in order to prevent people from generating violence during the mobilizations.

In an interview with RPP, the general said that social media has been announcing mobilizations for the 27th, 28th and 29th, so they will apply a police operation similar to last year’s when they had peaceful Fiestas Patrias. So the operations will be carried out from the places where the protesters will gather.

He explained that this measure lends itself to discrimination, but the Peruvian National Police acts within the law of the regulations, and these measures will also serve to identify those who have warrants or protesters who come with explosives.
