Information from the area indicates that the demonstrators attacked the 24th Santa Isabel Police Station in Caaguazú.
Throughout the day, protesters (mostly) truckers made cuts on Route PY02. The climate of tension grew with the passing of the hours and triggered a confrontation between the unions and the uniformed men.
The riot police were outnumbered and had to retreat to the aforementioned Police Station. The protesters for their part sought to set fire to the police headquarters.
