The Special Team of Prosecutors against the corruption of power (EFICCOP) seized the apartment of the nurse Derby Apaza —ex-partner of the fired minister of health, Jorge López—, located in Jesús María. This, due to the case of ‘smurf’ that involves the former official.
Members of the National Program of Seized Assets (Pronabi) also appeared at the scene, after the Judiciary, through Judge Richard Concepción Carhuancho, declared founded “the requirement for the seizure of real estate department 1306, 13th floor, located on Avenida Cuba”.

SEIZURE ARGUMENTS
Within the resolution, it is explained in detail that derby apaza He does not have the economic capacity to buy the property, since he has a monthly income of 1,500 soles and since January of this year an average income of 6 thousand soles.
“There is a probability that these economic funds are illicit, that is, they are linked to acts of corruption because Mrs. Derby Apaza Meza would have increased her assets with the acquisition of the property in cash, acquiring it without bank financing”the document reads.
“Regarding the second requirement of the seizure, it must be specified that the danger of delay applicable to the property (department 306) has been configured, considering that there is a well-founded risk that its owner transfers it to third parties, or simply performs any other legal act aimed to dispose of it (mortgage lease usufruct), bringing with it the fruitlessness of the present seizure measure.
For these reasons, the judge considered “that it is essential to order the seizure of said property, with a view to ensuring the final decision, including its definitive confiscation.”

Yesterday morning, two representatives of the Public Ministry (MP) arrived at the headquarters of the Luis Quito clinic, in La Victoria, in order to gather information on the complaint against Jorge López.
“(It has been collected) important research for the investigation, documents that are important. There is already a preliminary investigation. It is part of the reserve,” said provincial prosecutor Jorge García in dialogue with the press.

This money would have been used for Apaza to pay the down payment on an apartment in Jesús María, but not everything ended there. she also received US$70,000, in his account in dollars, from businessman Luis Quito for an alleged sale of a tomograph in August of this year.
