Prosecutor’s Office will investigate allegations of corruption in Opa de Nutresa

In the last few hours, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that it will initiate an investigation into the civil complaints it has received for judicial corruption in the professed public offering, takeover bid, to acquire the shares of Grupo Nutresa.

The entity assured that “received two criminal complaints related to civil lawsuits filed by Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana (Grupo Sura SA) and Compañía de Cementos Argos S.A”.

It wants to establish whether there were alleged irregularities in the distribution procedures, in the admitting orders and in the adoption of precautionary measuresissues that could configure judicial corruption.

In the appeals advanced by these Antioquian firms, it is said that the possible irregularities in the distribution and in the order would have occurred in the processing of said civil lawsuits, which is the subject of investigation.

Accordingly, the prosecutor referred the case to the Specialized Directorate against Corruptionin which it was determined that two prosecutors be the ones who assume the actions to which there is a place.

One of officials is delegated to the District Courtor, and will be accompanied by an interdisciplinary team from the Judicial Police who stand out for being experts in topics related to computer forensics, business administration and accounting.

This, in order to guarantee the strategic, agile and effective progress of the investigation and give a prompt response to the public on the clarification of these facts that are of public interest.“, explained the Prosecutor’s Office.
