“Arbitrary and obscure.” The Public Ministry of La Paz rejected the complaint on Monday presented by the bench of Creemos, against leaders of the Movement Toward Socialism (MAS) who staged a fence in Santa Cruz as a measure of protest against the indefinite strike that this department complies with in order to carry out the Population and Housing Census in 2023.

The legal part of the alliance pointed to the prosecutor of the Analysis Unit, Osmar Pereirafor “arbitrarily and obscurely dismissing” and establishing that there is no evidence of the accusation against the defendants.

In this regard, the deputy of Creemos, María René Álvarez, stated that this decision by the Prosecutor’s Office does not attract attention, since she assures that they have given “clear signs of inclination in favor of the government party” and the determination is the fruit of the selective justice that exists in the country.

“It does not call our attention, because the Prosecutor’s Office has given clear samples, it was to be expected. They dismiss it arbitrarily, because it is of a political nature. It is surprising that at the speed of light they admit the complaint filed against Camacho and civic leadersThey even expanded it”, questioned the parliamentarian in telephone contact with EL DEBER.

Álvarez maintained that the rejection of the Public Ministry is due to the fact that in the complaint submitted by Creemos, The Minister of Government, Eduardo Del Castillo, was included in the memorial, for “coordinating the siege of the Palmasola refinery with a transport sector”according to the video that circulated on social networks on Sunday, November 6.

He pointed out that the evidence is conclusive against the leaders, the Minister of Government and the executive of the Central Obrera Departamental (COD), Rolando Borda, because they appeared publicly planning and their statements are publicTherefore, “the Prosecutor’s Office should act ex officio”.

He said that they will continue to assess the complaint and announced that will add the latest videos that circulated on social networks where a group of transporters allegedly coordinate and ask Del Castillo for financing to execute the fence at the entrance to the Guillermo Elder Bell refinery.

Both the Minister of Government, Borda and leaders related to the Government were denounced for the alleged crimes of terrorism, genocide and organized crime. The deputy justified that the crime of terrorism was included due to the “active participation of State ministers” in the siege and repression of the population.

DUTY agreed to the document that the Cruceña bench Creemos sent to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), where it asks the organization to adopt “Precautionary Measures to preserve the rights to health, life, safety and integrity of the people of the department of Santa Cruz, in the face of acts of violence and confrontation incited by the national government.”

The request is based on article 25 of the IACHR and it was signed by parliamentarians Centa Rek, Henry Montero, Tatiana Áñez, Erwin Bazán, Óscar Michel, Whalty Egüez, María René Álvarez and Khaline Moreno.

After reviewing the police repression and clashes that took place between social organizations related to the MAS with the citizens who complied with the indefinite strike, the parliamentarians from Santa Cruz ordered the IACHR to send a commission to Bolivian territory to accompany the dialogue process that is still taking place between the Inter-institutional Committee and the national government to carry out the registration and ensure the human rights of the inhabitants.

On Friday, November 11, President Luis Arce, announced that the Population and Housing Census will be carried out on March 23 2024 and the redistribution of economic resources are announced in September of the same year.
