The Second Investigative Office of the Specialized Prosecutor for Corruption Crimes raided this Tuesday, November 29, with a court order, the home of the elected regional governor of tacna, Luis Torres Robledo.
The diligence is part of the investigation that is being followed against the elected authority for the alleged corruption case “Los Limpios de Tacna”, in which he is accused of irregular sale of properties of the Tacna Provincial Municipality in its third municipal term (2015-2018).
The search began at one in the morning and was carried out by the criminal prosecutor Naydu Lazo. Judge Juan Portugal Vega was the one who authorized the search and seizure of assets, documents, as well as the search of the people who were in the house. youOrres has been under house arrest for almost 2 years and the arrest term ends in September 2023. Under these circumstances, he was elected governor of Tacna.
Torres Robledo’s lawyer, Marcela Urteaga Paredes, questioned that the Prosecutor’s Office is looking for evidence for a case that began in 2018. In November of that year, Torres was preliminarily detained along with his former councilors, then sent to preventive detention and, finally, the order was revoked and replaced by house arrest.
Urteaga warned that they have requested the change of judge Portugal Vega, from the Preparatory Investigation office, for delaying the process of Torres, who is seeking his freedom. In addition, they complained to the magistrate before the Decentralized Control Office and denounced him before the National Board of Justice.
