The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office Against Organized Crime (Fecor) of Piura carried out this Tuesday a simultaneous search operation in eight properties located in different provinces of the Piura region and one in Lima, as part of the investigation carried out against an alleged criminal organization called “Los Ilustres de Piura”.
The diligence, carried out by the Second Office of Feccor and with the support of the Money Laundering Department of the National Police, included the unlocking, personal and home search, as well as the seizure of assets. Among the premises seized is the Pariñas Police Station, in the province of Talara, which reinforces the fiscal hypothesis regarding the alleged participation of public officials in the investigated network.

According to the Public Ministry, six people are being investigated for the alleged crimes of criminal organization, falsification of documents, ideological falsification, money laundering – in the form of conversion acts -, generic active bribery and specific active bribery. The properties seized are located in Lima, Piura, Catacaos, Castilla, Veintisirse de Octubre and Talara.
As part of the measures ordered, the Prosecutor’s Office seized a four-story property located in the Miraflores Country Club urbanization, valued at approximately 150 thousand dollars, which would have been acquired with money of illicit origin. The asset will be delivered to the National Seized Assets Program (Pronabi) for administration, while fiscal proceedings continue to determine the corresponding criminal responsibilities.
