The Public Ministry performs documents exhibition proceedings at the headquarters of the Regional Freedom Governmentlocated in the Trujillo Plaza de Armas, in order to verify information on the selection and award processes of public works. The intervention occurs after a panorama report revealed that the governor César Acuña granted the company of Lucero Nicole Coca Condori won tenders for more than S/300 million.
The diligence was executed by the Fifth Corporate Provincial Prosecutor’s Office specialized in Corruption Crimes of Liberty Officials, by the provincial prosecutor Víctor Bazán Alagón.
Regional Government of Libertad grants more than S/300 million in tenders
The Panorama report revealed that the Regional Government of La Libertad, led by César Acuña Peralta, awarded more than S/300 million in contracts to the company LC and EC Constructora, whose majority shareholder is Lucero Nicole Coca Condori, a newly graduated 23 -year -old girl and without prior experience in public works. The company was created in 2023 and tenders for the improvement of the Northern Road Corridor (S/121 million) and the extension of the Virú Hospital (S/194 million) were awarded, despite not having technical staff or a history under construction.
The journalistic research also details that Coca Condori’s father, Juan Carlos Coca Rojas, who regularly appears in official records, last March he held a meeting of more than two hours with Governor Acuña, weeks before the awards are made.
After the dissemination of the case, the Prosecutor’s Office specialized in corruption crimes raided the regional headquarters to collect documentation on the selection processes. Officials of the region affirmed that the background of those who are behind the beneficiaries are not evaluated, and from the National Anti -Corruption Ombudsman they questioned the award of millionaire works to a person without experience.
