The provincial prosecutor Diana Liz Canchihuamán Castañeda, of the Lava Jato Special Team, presented before the Judiciary the tax accusation against Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, Sergio Bravo, Alberto Pasco-Font, José Ortiz and other former officials for the alleged crime of collusion to the detriment of the State. The case is linked to the process of promotion and awarding of the road sections of the Amazonas Norte Multimodal Axis (IIRSA Norte) granted to the private sector between 2003 and 2005.
The representative of the Public Ministry has requested eight and a half years in prison for Kuczynski and José Ortizas well as nine years for Sergio Bravo, Alberto Pasco-Font, Glodomiro Sánchez, David Lemor, René Cornejo, Aldo Bresani and Vicente Campodónico. All are accused of having intervened in decisions that, according to the tax thesis, favored companies linked to the Lava Jato case.

According to the accusatory request, Kuczynski would have taken advantage of his position as Minister of Economy and president of the Board of Directors from ProInversión to hold meetings with Jorge Barata and promote the interests of the construction company Odebrechtthen formed as IIRSA Norte SA Concessionaire The Prosecutor’s Office maintains that this favoring materialized in the awarding of the bid and the concession contract, to the detriment of the State.
The alleged act of collusion would have generated economic damage equivalent to US$ 108 million 439 thousand 773, an amount calculated by the Public Ministry as direct damage to the country. With this presentation, the case moves to the legality control stage, before the eventual oral trial.

PPK is a candidate for Senator for Strength and Freedom
Former President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski was registered as a candidate for the Senate by the Fuerza y Libertad party for the 2026 General Elections. According to the documentation presented to the National Election Jury (JNE), the former president leads the senatorial list for Lima within the alliance made up of Fuerza Moderna and Batalla Perú.
In an interview with RPP, Kuczynski confirmed his candidacy and indicated that he seeks to obtain a seat to help raise the level of Congress. “I still have to go through some procedures and if they elect me, then I will do it. Why would I do it? Because the quality of the Congress that we have had in the last parliaments has been despicable, it has been really terrible. So, I believe that we all have to try to improve,” he indicated.
