Prosecutor Richard Rojas Gómez projected yesterday that the owner of Peru Libre, Vladimir Cerronwould receive a sentence of 35 years in prison if found guilty of the crimes of criminal organization and money laundering.
During the preventive detention hearing, Rojas said that the severity of the sentence is increased because the former governor of Junín would be a repeat offender, since he was convicted of incompatible negotiation in 2019.
Likewise, it indicated that it is appropriate to order preventive detention for 36 months because it can obstruct the investigations by having influence in the government of Pedro Castillo.
The prosecutor added that Cerrón also has no family, home or work roots. Regarding the first, he recalled that his mother Bertha Rojas and his brother Waldemar are being investigated in the same case.
On the second matter, he pointed out that the ex-regional authority was never located during the raids that were made on the assets that appear in his name.
And, in relation to the labor ties, he said that it is unknown of any permanent job carried out by the accused leader of the Los Dinámicos del Centro criminal network. Judge John Pillaca announced that tomorrow he will issue his decision in a hearing that will begin at 7:00 pm
