According to the statement from the Public Ministry, the investigations are in charge of the Illicit Enrichment and Constitutional Complaints area, led by prosecutor Marcial Páucar.
The reason is because the president did not give notice of her temporary impediment to continue in office for 12 days when she did not appear at any public event. He even connected virtually to the session of the Council of Ministers on July 5, 2023.
In conversation with Peru21the president’s lawyer Juan Carlos Portugal mentioned that so far he has not been notified of the process against Boluarte. He told this newspaper that after Otárola’s statements, the investigation “was foreseeable”, but that “the president is absolutely calm.”
