The Public Ministry reported that the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, did know that his right to privacy would not be violated and still refused to hand over his iCloud password.

In that sense, the institution insisted that the request made by the Area of ​​Illicit Enrichment and Constitutional Complaints “is not arbitrary or violates rights and guarantees.” “On the contrary, it strictly complies with the mandates of the law and the Political Constitution of Peru,” they added.

Likewise, they emphasized that “the notification to the investigated Juan José Santiváñez Antúnez was subject to the willingness to collaborate with the clarification of the facts, as part of the investigation for the alleged crime of abuse of authority, to the detriment of journalists.”

What did Juan Santiváñez say about the tax requirement?

The Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, refused to comply with the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, which gave him a period of 48 hours to provide the iCloud account and password for his iPhone 15 Pro Max.
