The Lava Jato special team has agreed to sit down and listen to the representatives of the company Odebrecht after it required the Brazilian authorities to suspend the delivery of information to the Peruvian Prosecutor’s Office.
These types of appointments are contemplated in the effective collaboration agreement signed by the company and the Public Ministry. However, the prosecutors led by Rafael Vela already have a defined position.
Yesterday, the Judiciary rescheduled for January the statements in the trial against former president Ollanta Humala of former executives Marcelo Odebrecht and Jorge Barata. But, as long as the construction company does not lift the suspension, no testimony can be collected by the judges.

Peru21 learned that the only way that Vela will accept to continue with the agreement is for the company to change that situation. And it will not accept that the signature put conditions.
The construction company alleges that Vela used evidence presented by the company to testify against it in an international arbitration that the Peruvian State has initiated for the Gas Pipeline case, and in which it requests US$1.4 billion in compensation. The superior prosecutor discarded that version and assured that he respected the agreement.
