The head of the Public Ministry said that, although after assuming the Prosecutor’s Office, he indicated that he would evaluate the permanence of the prosecutor, at the current situation to Pérez would be “impertinent and unreasonable”, especially because he has just initiated the oral trial against the former mayor of Lima Susana Villarán.
Gálvez recalled that, weeks ago in a radio interview, he had declared that if he arrived at the highest headquarters of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, he would remove “at the act” to Pérez, and also Rafael Vela, accusing them of cover -up.
“Put that I was the prosecutor of the Nation, not a minute are those gentlemen there, because they will not continue covering up, they will not keep covering up.

In that spirit of stability that seems to be imposed in the Public Ministry, Gálvez announced that the investigations initiated by the Prosecutor’s Office to executive officials and characters close to this will continue their course, including cases against the Minister of Justice, Juan José Santiváñez, and the president of the president, Nicanor Boluarte.
“Why are they going to interrupt if they are initiated? They have to continue necessarily. I have always given a guarantee of objectivity in my work,” said the prosecutor of the Nation, who also recognized her internship, ensuring that the head of the Public Ministry remains Delia Espinoza, suspended six months by the National Board of Justice.
“I always assume that the titular prosecutor is her. While it is true, it is suspended and must continue the function of the Prosecutor’s Office in my charge, she remains the prosecutor of the nation and we cannot interrupt the work she has started,” he said.
On the request made by the suspended Delia Espinoza to cancel the registration of the Popular Force Party for “anti -democratic behaviors”, Tomás Gálvez said that although in his professional opinion he does not find indications that give reason to this accusation, the Prosecutor’s Office will follow the case, but it will be the Judicial Power that resolves this request.
