The Attorney General of the Nation, Francisco Barbosa announced that All the arrest and extradition orders that are in force against eleven members of the ELN peace negotiating delegation were suspended.
“I have signed the resolution in which it is ordered to suspend for three months each and every one of the arrest warrants that have been issued or are issued against Nicolás Rodríguez Bautista, Pablo Beltrán, Aurelio Carbonel, Gustavo Martínez, Silvana Guerrero, Alirio Sepúlveda, Isabel Torres, María Consuelo Tapias, Tomás García Laviana, Óscar Serrano and Vivían Henaowho have been recognized by the government as the ELN negotiators,” the official announced.
Likewise, the prosecutor ordered the communication of this resolution to the judicial police authorities national and international authorities, including Interpol.

This measure was taken by order of President Gustavo Petro, to facilitate the reestablishment of peace talks with the leadership of that guerrilla group that is currently in Cuba.
“By decree I have authorized to restore the protocols, allow negotiators again, allow them to reconnect with their organizationsuspend arrest warrants for those negotiators, suspend extradition orders for those negotiators, so that a dialogue with the National Liberation Army begins,” the president had announced from San Pablo, Bolívar.
