The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab urged international justice bodies to work in a coordinated manner with the Venezuelan judiciary, so that criminal sanctions against Nayid Bukele be established in the face of crimes against humanity perpetrated against the 252 Venezuelan migrants.
During an interview with VTV, Saab said that the Government of El Salvador incurred a plurality of crimes among which the violation of due process, human trafficking, kidnapping and forced disappearance by not informing the identity of people illegally and without any justification is.
He even denounced that the instigation of suicide was another illegal actions carried out by Nayib Bukele in the CECOT against kidnapped migrants.
Prosecutor William Saab added that the nationals were located by their relatives, through the videos and photographs published by the international media; While mentioning that these 252 repatriated citizens reported about the inhuman, cruel and degrading treatment to which they were exposed in the CECOT.
He added that “to this is added the retention of Venezuelan girls and boys in US territory,” so the Public Ministry has initiated a campaign for the repatriation of all the children of the country.
Then, the representative of the Public Ministry recalled the historical struggle of President Nicolás Maduro to achieve the repatriation of citizens from the United States and El Salvador, who were kidnapped and violated without legal bases.
Subsequently, he classified as a “moral and ethical victory” the reunion of Venezuelan children with their parents and other relatives.
When asked about the legal actions exercised, he explained that on March 30 “we sent a request to the Supreme Court of El Salvador, but this instance responded 80 days later, arguing that they had no knowledge of the facts denounced, when it was public and notorious, the illegal transfer of nationals that remained in the center of confinement of terrorism (Cecot).”
Finally, he reiterated that the investigation continues its course and “at the present time, we are in the process of evacuating evidence and urges international justice bodies to pronounce this type of actions.”
