The Public Ministry highlights that, once authorization was received from the Judiciary to preliminarily detain Silva, and since it did not have police information, “it was strategically chosen to implement it at the time of his summons to the prosecutor’s office.”

“Since the concurrence of the investigated was not verified, the measure was communicated to the National Police of Peru so that it proceeds with the arrest. (…) To this date, the police authority continued to maintain that it was monitoring the former minister, although it did not have the actual location of his whereabouts, ”it is emphasized.

Another point to highlight is that the National Prosecutor’s Office, which rejects the statements of the Minister of the Interior, Dimitri Senmache, claims not to have been informed that Silva requested the withdrawal of the police guard service in his capacity as former minister.
