Espinoza maintained that the capabilities of the fiscal staff will be improved in order to unify action criteria; as well as the acquisition of theoretical knowledge necessary for an effective inter-institutional fight against acts that affect and damage cultural and paleontological heritage.

He reported, in this sense, that the commission of this type of crimes has increased in Lima, Cusco and Arequipa.

“For this reason, a relevant line of action for the Public Ministry is to promote specialized, highly technical investigations that contribute to reducing the incidence of crime (of this type),” he stated.

The highest authority of the Prosecutor’s Office shared this speech when inaugurating the workshop called ‘Regulatory framework and procedures for the protection and defense of the cultural heritage of the Nation’.

This workshop—aimed at officials and servants of the Public Ministry linked to the management and defense of the Nation’s cultural heritage—aimed at providing tools and knowledge to tax personnel on procedures executed by the General Directorate for the Defense of Cultural Heritage, which strengthen intersectoral articulation in favor of the protection and defense of heritage.
