The new prosecutor of the Nation, Liz Patricia Benavides Vargas, began a great transformation in the Public Ministry, by imposing last weekend a series of changes in the operating units and research.
Changes that within the institution have been baptized as the “revolution of the attached”. Until May 30, Benavides she was a deputy supreme prosecutor. On June 1, the National Board of Justice named her the Supreme Prosecutor and 20 days later, the Board of Supreme Prosecutors elected her the Nation’s Prosecutor.
The deputy prosecutors are the majority in the Public ministry, but they are always behind the incumbent prosecutors, although many times they are the ones who make the greatest effort. Dr. Benavides vindicates that work by taking them to important positions.

One of the first changes and the one that was most publicized was the removal of the superior coordinating prosecutor of the anti-corruption prosecutors, Omar Tello Rosales. But that is not the main change nor is it the most important.
Benavidez Vargas shook the tree. He removed national coordinators who had held key positions for more than a decade.
Thus, he changed the prosecutor Isabel Galvan Street of the strategic and powerful national coordination of anti-drug prosecutors and liaison with the Narcotics Affairs Section (NAS) and the DEA. Galván held the position since 2015 and will now head a criminal prosecution in Surco.

The new coordinator of the anti-corruption prosecutors is the superior prosecutor of Loreto, Emma Vergara Cabrera. In 2018, she was attached to the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office for Internal Control.

The new anti-drug coordinator and liaison with the DAS and the DEA is the superior prosecutor Daniel Jara Espinoza and Luis Valdivia Calderón is the new coordinator of the prosecutor’s offices of Human rights Y terrorism; Wilfredo Avellaneda, from the domain forfeiture prosecutors.
The new special team
The Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, will present today the Special Team of Prosecutors to investigate the power. It is the third special team that will operate in the Prosecutor’s Office, after car wash Y White Necks.

This team will be in charge of investigating senior public officials who are under investigation in more than one subsystem, euphemism for not saying directly that he will investigate the president’s entourage Peter Castle.
