The Prosecutor’s Office of La Araucanía reformed the leader of the Arauco Malleco Coordinator (CAM), Héctor Llaitul, -who has been in preventive detention since August 25-, and increased the amount of the value of stolen wood charged to him six times.
Initially, Llaitul had been formalized for the crimes of wood theft, usurpation and attack against authority, which are related to five acts of violence that occurred between January 2020 and May of this year, an instance in which the entity The persecutor raised a series of facts that pointed to the links between Llaitul’s expressions and the carrying out of 45 attacks on properties in the aforementioned region.
