The regional prosecutor of Arica and Parinacota, mario careerspoke about the possible threats by the Aragua Train against Carabineros that are in the area of Cerro Chuño in the regional capital.
To point out that Radio Bio Bio indicated this past Saturday that the criminal organization of Venezuelan origin would plan to carry out an armed attack against the police officers located in said sector as a form of “revenge” and “show strength” after the arrests of members of the criminal gang.

Along these lines, he also pointed out that “we are taking safeguards that are natural (…) and in the face of any doubt, obviously, each of the institutions issues internal instructions regarding ways of acting and it seems to me that the Carabineros did it.”
“I think that there was an overreaction regarding a legitimate concern within the Carabineros. Internal protocols have been reinforced, guidelines have been given to their officials on how to act, and that does not mean that they have received direct threats,” Carrera added.
Although he insisted that the actions of the police were as a preventive measure. “If there had been threats, they would have been reported and I would have been aware of them. And there is no complaint to that effect,” she said.

Faced with these complaints of threats and the operation of the criminal gang in the north of our country, the regional prosecutor stated that “we handle other types of information regarding possible reprisals regarding the coup that we have constantly given, but it does not go beyond that. And today I could say that this organization in the region is very weak, very weak”.
Finally he exclaimed: “I would be more categorical, in this region the Aragua Train was completely dismantled. What happens is that from the strategic point of view that is our region, I have no doubt that the work has not been finished with that.” I have no doubt that they are going to try to rearticulate themselves in this region.”
