The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, held an encounter with a group of relatives of the detainees in the framework of the violence after the electoral process of July 28, 2024, in order to listen to first hand their claims and provide them with personalized attention, says press release of the institution.
In this sense, the highest authority of the Public Ministry appointed a multidisciplinary group of prosecutors to address cases directly and offer legal guidance with respect to each cause.
During the meeting, relatives from several states of the country asked the entity of the legality in the country to streamline and, also, resolved their doubts and questions regarding the legal status of each of those processed by these facts.
To date, the Public Ministry has requested a little more than 2,000 reviews of measures for these defendants, of which 1,767 have already been agreed by the Court.
It should be noted that the Public Ministry, in a coordinated and inspired manner in the principle of collaboration between public authorities provided for in the Constitutional article 136, will continue the process of exhaustive review of these cases to ratify their status of part of good faith, objective and impartial, in defense of peace, justice and human rights.
