A spill of palm oil affected a water channel in the district of Campoverde, province of Padre Abad, Ucayali, generating concern among the population.
The incident was recorded by a driver on the Pucallpa-Campoverde route and the video went viral on social networks.
Given the dissemination of the images, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office intervened in the area to assess the damage.
The company responsible for the spill attributed the fact to the overflow of a container after the rains, but the authorities investigate whether there was negligence in waste management.
