The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, warned that María Corina Machado will be declared a fugitive from justice if she leaves Venezuela.
The warning was made by Saab on the occasion of the far-right leader’s announcement that she will receive the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo.
In this regard, the prosecutor emphasized that “since she is outside Venezuela and has numerous criminal investigations, she is considered a fugitive.” These investigations are associated with acts of conspiracy, incitement to hatred and terrorism.
In an interview given to an international news agency, prosecutor Saab recalled that the opposition Machado is also being investigated for her “call to invade Venezuela,” by supporting the US military deployment in the Caribbean.
