Santo Domingo.- Among the new provisions that the new Labor Code would establish, if its reform is approved, would be the Increase in vacation time from the third year of the worker in the company and the paternity leave by 100%.
This was reported on Monday by the Minister of Labor, Luis Miguel de Camps, who together with President Luis Abinader presented the proposal to modify this legal framework in the customary “Semanal Con La Prensa.”

An extra day from the third year of the employee in the company is what would represent the increase in vacations, that is, 14 working days would be 15 for the enjoyment of the holidays.
As for the 100% increase in paternity leavede Camps highlighted that one of the requirements that would be demanded of the worker will be the presentation of the declaration before the Civil Status Office of the child, so that responsible paternity and the family nucleus are also strengthened.
The minister recalled that a few months ago the Constitutional Court ruled against this aspect of the Labour Code and ordered that measures be taken to progressively equalise leave.
Luis Miguel de Camps indicated that the elements presented were already agreed upon with the main actors in the labor field and that in 10 days the proposal will be deposited before the National Congress for evaluation.
