The president commented that the Ministry of Finance already has a proposal, but it will not yet be announced.
“There is already a proposal from the Ministry of Finance, but it has not yet been presented. We miss these days. Gerardo Esquivel’s term ends until December 31,” López Obrador explained.
In recent weeks, the possibility of Esquivel continuing at the central bank has been discussed.
President López Obrador himself said that he did not rule out the continuity of Gerardo Esquivel as deputy governor of Banxico. The head of the Treasury, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, is evaluating options for the position.
