Santo Domingo. – The Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency (Propeep) shared this Saturday a christmas lunch to hundreds of low-income residents of the capital, who gathered at the Mauricio Báez Club, in the Villa Juana sector, in the National District, within the framework of its “Flavors of Christmas” program.
In a press release, the director of the entity, Roberto Angel Salcedopointed out that the activity It is part of the Government’s social initiatives, for Christmas, with which it seeks to bring joy to the population, especially the most vulnerable.
“The purpose of these lunches is for each citizen to share in harmony the spirit of the time, which is one of joy and solidarity,” he expressed.
The official stated that the intention is not only to share a meal, but also to create a space where you can share in fellowship and family unity.
Likewise, he highlighted that the lunches, which have been taken to different locations in the country, are a sample of the president’s commitment Luis Abinader with families, especially the poorest ones.
In that sense, he assured that with those social actions They continue to develop programs that promote the social inclusion of communities throughout the national territory.
“With these lunches our government ratifies its mission to positively impact the lives of Dominicans all year round, but much more so during this Christmas season,” he stated.
Roberto Ángel, took advantage of the occasion to urge the Dominican people, and particularly the people of Villajuan, to enjoy the Christmas season to share with family and friends, but in moderation.
Present at the activity were deputy Melina Sánchez; the Director of Dominicana Digna, Madelen Díaz, several councilors from the National District mayor’s office, as well as community leaders from the populous capital sector.
With this lunch, Propeep concludes the “Flavors of Christmas” program, developed throughout the month of December.
