Villa Isabela, Puerto Plata– The Government, through the Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency (Propeep), held a social inclusion day this Saturday “First You” in the Villa Isabela municipality, Puerto Plata, after the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
The activity was headed by the minister of the presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, and the director of Propeep, Robert Polanco, who highlighted the commitment that President Luis Abinader’s government has to guarantee that vulnerable communities have access to all public services.
The event was held at the Padre Boíl Educational Center, where more than 12 state institutions participated, representatives of public institutions, municipal authorities and community leaders, who They offered free health services, education, social assistance and protection programs to people in precarious conditions..
Likewise, the event was attended by Senator Ginette Bournigal, Provincial Governor Claritza Rochette, Mayor Ruddy Leandro Guzmán and the General Director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), Igor Rodríguez.
Beating: “At the heart of all public policy…are the people”
“I am from Puerto Plata, I am one of you. From Isabela I have always received the best support and today I am here to give back a little of everything that this land has given me. This day brings more than 12 different services that directly impact the quality of life of the people,” said Paliza, after receiving the declaration of recognition from the local mayor’s office.
The official highlighted that the beneficiaries of the “First You” days receive food assistance, free medical care, membership in SENASA, access to solidarity pensions for older adults, as well as contributions from social programs, such as Supérate, among others.
“Because at the heart of every initiative, of every effort, of every public policy, for the government of President Luis Abinader, for us, is the people. In the people is our concern, our strength and our commitment,” the minister pointed out.
Polanco: “We will continue working for the most vulnerable sectors”
“How proud we are to be in this emblematic community, founded on the second voyage of Christopher Columbus. We are here by instruction of President Luis Abinader and by the close management of Minister José Ignacio Paliza, who care not only about the development works, but also about the well-being of the humble men and women of each municipality,” said director Polanco.
The official highlighted the collaboration of the different participating entities such as the Dominican Navy, the National Health Service (SNS), the National Council for the Aging (CONAPE), SENASA, the Súperate Program, INFOTEP and the Vocational School of the Armed Forces and the National Police, among others.
In addition, he reaffirmed the commitment of government management and the social institution to work “for the popular sectors, for the most humble and vulnerable.”
About the “You First” days
The “First You” conferences of the General Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency (Propeep) are part of a comprehensive social inclusion policy promoted by the government of President Luis Abinader, to bring public services closer to the communities and improve the quality of life of the most needy families, especially at a time when the country is recovering from the effects of Tropical Storm Melissa.
