History of the Three Wise Men
The celebration of the Three Wise Men is one of the oldest Christian traditions, which symbolizes the adoration of the baby Jesus in Bethlehem and is commemorated every January 6.
Over time, this Christian tradition identified Melchior, Gaspar and Baltasar, natives of Europe, Asia and Africa, as representatives of the message of Christ addressed to all the peoples and cultures of the world.
Beyond its religious dimension, the celebration of the Three Wise Men has deep cultural roots in many countries with a Hispanic tradition, where the date is associated with family activities, community events and the giving of gifts to children, promoting values such as solidarity, hope and faith.
