Promotion case. The Judiciary ordered a preliminary detention measure for 10 days against the former general commander of the PNP, Javier Santos Gallardo Mendoza. This, due to the case of irregular promotions in the Armed Forces (FF.AA.) and National Police of Peru (PNP) during the government of Pedro Castillo.
According to a document to which La República had access, it was the Sixth Preparatory Investigation Court of the National Superior Court that declared the request of the provincial prosecutor, Kelinda Janampa Oscategui, members of the Team of Prosecutors against Power Corruption, founded.
Likewise, the search, unlocking and lifting of the secrecy of communications was ordered against Javier Gallardo, who served as General Commander of the PNP until January 30, 2022 in the management of the former Minister of the Interior, Avelino Guillén.
Indeed, personnel from the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office raided Javier Gallardo’s home located in the district of San Miguel as part of the investigation against him for influence peddling, passive and improper bribery, and criminal organization executed in the departments of Lima , Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, Ancash, Ucayali, Cusco and Tacna.
In the same way, the court determined preliminary detention against the PNP general, Nicasio Zapata Suclupe; the largest PNP, Luis Ángel Tuesta Ramón; General PNP, Luis Enrique Legua Egocheaga; General PNP, Manuel Jesús Rivera López; Junior PNP, Jorge Tarrillo Galvez; Oscar Luis Monge Macarlupu and Pedro Rodolfo Villanueva Nole.
In this sense, Judge Jhon Pillaca Valdez ordered the search of 27 properties in the regions of Lima, Tumbes, Tacna, Ucayali, Chiclayo and Ancash as part of the investigation of an alleged payment for high promotions in the PNP, after visiting Palacio of government.
