Project “Farmers of Tomorrow” is launched

President Luis Abinader, the Ministry of Youth and the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) launched on Sunday the program “farmers of tomorrow”, which will benefit more than 300 young people with an amount of around 15 million pesos in support of agricultural and livestock projects.

Abinader led the activity together with the youth minister, Rafael Jesús Féliz García, and the director of the FEDA, Hecmilio Galván, held in the Plaza Anfiteatro Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deño in San Juan de la Maguana within the framework of the Entrepreneurship Fair and Youth organized by the Ministry of Youth.

According to the statement, Féliz García highlighted this program, which he said will result in the dominican youth in rural areas and will contribute to the development of the Dominican countryside.

“With the technical support of FEDA and the Ministry of Youth, the rural youth will have all the tools to undertake and become a “Agriculture of tomorrow“said Feliz Garcia.

“It is a project for which, both in the youth and in the FEDA, we have been working and organizing with determination for months. It has been a task in which we have invested our whole hearts; and with a well-determined purpose: to always seek the well-being of the dominican youth”, the minister continued.

“This plan will articulate youth with leadership and it will make them coordinators of groups between 50 and 100 young entrepreneurs in different areas in their own communities in the areas of services, production, not only in agriculture but in any area that young people wish to undertake”, said Galván.

“The idea of ​​the program is to support young people to improve themselves and in it we will integrate at least 3,000 thousand leaders who will coordinate these groups and will also become the true democratic leadersworkers, honest, responsible and committed”, added the director of Feda.

Deliveries

During the activity, some 450 young people were benefited with the delivery of sheep, goats, Brazilian dwarf coconut plants, small sheep, rabbit and goat farms, among others. As well as support tools in the planting and cultivation of agricultural products and 50 shredders, are part of the benefits of this plan with an investment of more than 15 million pesos.

Also in attendance were the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; the Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz; the administrator of the Agricultural bank, Fernando Duran; the director of the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD), Guillermo García; the provincial governor, Elvira Corporan, the mayoress of San Juan, Hanoy Sanchez; deputy Frank Ramirez; the director of the National Institute for Price Stabilization (Inespre), Iván Hernández, among others.
