Proinversión: they will modernize the Port of Chimbote

The executive director of , José Salardi, announced that a private initiative has been presented to modernize the Port of Chimbote. This project will receive the support of the Ancash region, according to deputy governor Angelly Epifanía.

This is a project that requires an investment of around US$180 million, and will make it possible to modernize the terminal to mobilize export products such as fishmeal, minerals, and agro-industrial production.

“It is an important investment that must be completed in the coming years and it will be the ninth public port infrastructure that Proinversión grants as a concession,” said José Salardi.

During the visit to Ancash, the holder of Proinvestment and line directors met with the mayors of the municipalities of Santa, Luis Gamarra, and Nuevo Chimbote, Walter Soto, to report on the investment mechanisms of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), Projects in Assets, and Works for Taxes.

José Salardi highlighted the progress of both municipalities in prioritizing their projects and promised the technical support of the institution he presides over to carry out their initiatives.

On the other hand, the entity’s technical team took advantage of the visit to tour the land where the new Essalud de Chimbote, whose adjudication is expected for the first half of this year. Likewise, he toured the project under construction of the new Municipal Theater of Chimbote, which is executed through Works for Taxes, with an investment of S / 19.5 million.
