Proindustria holds job fair in San Francisco Free Zones

The director of the Center for the Development of Industrial Competitiveness, ProIndustria, Ulises Rodríguez affirmed that the rescue of free zone parks and the generation of jobs is a tangible reality, thanks to the support received from the central government and the work of the institution’s staff. who drives .

Rodríguez offered his statements while supervising the development of the job fair held at the free zone park weekend in San Francisco de Macorís.

Hundreds of people gathered in the free zone to apply for the available jobs as operators with or without experience in the tobacco sector.

In addition to the tobacco company, which starts with 400 direct jobs, work is progressing to install a textile company for export. Last week Proindustria rehabilitated the Baní industrial free zone park, which began with 2,000 direct jobs.

Rodríguez highlighted that ProIndustria has been developing a dynamic program to rescue, reactivate and reopen free zones that had been abandoned or completely closed for several years as a result of a bad policy implemented by past governments that had no faith in the sector.

Now, said the official, the government of President Luis Abinader, which does believe in the sector, is making the necessary investments to reactivate them, thus contributing to the post-pandemic economic rescue, and generating thousands of jobs that bring well-being to Dominican families.

“The reactivation of this free zone park is a demand from the people of San Francisco de Macorís that today begins to be answered,” he concluded by stating.
