The director of Center for Development and Industrial Competitiveness (Proindustria), Ulysses Rodriguez, highlighted yesterday the rebound of the free zones in the country and the impact it has on the national economy.
The official said that in the first quarter the free zones managed by that entity have recovered 3,045 jobs.
“The correct policy and the clear vision of President Luis Abinader has allowed a recovery of the free zones,” Rodríguez said in a note.

He assured that the resurgence of the sector managed by Proindustria is due to the rescue program and strengthening of free zone parks, which were previously abandoned.
Rodríguez said that Proindustria manages eleven ships and four companies, which generated 1,921 jobs, but now create 300 and 400 each.
