During the second day of celebration of the IV Fair of Innovation and Industrial Entrepreneurship organized by the Center for Industrial Development and Competitiveness (Proindustria) participated 41 companies in the business round “B2B”, of which 13 correspond to free zones and 28 companies to the national regime.
This Thursday’s multi-sector meeting allowed large companies to make their exportable supply visible. The industries belong to the National Council of Free Zones (Cnzfe) and the medium and small companies of the national regime, are those that have the capacity to supply the large ones.
More than 80 people representing companies attended the meeting of the business round in a module of Los Jardines del Gran Teatro de Cibao, in the city of Santiago, it was reported in a press release.
Dozens of students from pre-university levels and universities in the city of Santiago and communities in the Cibao region observed the round of nbusinessmanaging to link to the business dynamics in the productive chain.

This business round multisectoral is framed within the actions of the project “Nearshoring and Trade Inclusivemade up of small and medium-sized companies (mipymes), in Chains of Global Values”, led by the Global Alliance, to facilitate trade together with Cnzfe, ProDominicana, Proindustria and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and MSMEs (MICM).
Likewise, in the round for the productive chain are the American Chamber of Trade of the Dominican Republic (Amchamdr), the Dominican Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (Codopyme), the General Directorate of Customs (DGA), the Dominican Association of Free Zones (Adozona) and the Dominican Association of Exporters (Adoexpo), with the support of the United States Agency for Development International (USAID)) and the Cooperation of Canada (GAC) and Germany (BMZ).
From nine in the morning to six in the afternoon the round of conversation was promoted with the sales executives of the companies.
The general director of Proindustria, Rafael Cruz Rodríguez, praised the close relationship between the supply and demand of raw materials and services offered by the business round at this Industrial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair.
While Víctor Encarnación, manager of Internationalization of SMEs in ProDominicana, stood out in the round of business the project with Alianza Global because it is leveraging processes to support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses, with a gender focus. “To involve women in the productive part,” he highlighted.
Based on these two pillars: the productive chain and the involvement of women in economic activity, we seek to be part of the development as a country. Encarnación expressed that the interaction seeks to ensure that free zones reduce the import of raw materials for manufacturing, purchasing them in the local market and having them supplied by companies in the national market.
Meanwhile, Crismel Luna, interim head of Chaining Productive of Proindustria, highlighted the number of companies that were linked to this round of business within the framework of the fairthe majority requiring different products from the industry, such as packaging, packaging, logistics services for transportation, raw materials, which they try to cover with information gathering.
“This business round was different, because it is aimed only at the requirements of free zonessuch as labels, among others, and only the local market is there as a seller,” Luna reported.
