Mario Delgado’s request did not take effect, so the National Commission of Honesty and Justice (CNHJ) of Morena resolved that both officials and national and local legislators may not be members of the national, state and municipal leadership at the same time, since to do double duty (or double
as it is known) is prohibited in the new statutes of the icing party.
This means that the general secretary, Citlalli Hernández, must request a license as a senator to remain in the National Executive Committee (CEN) of Morena, as well as the federal deputy Andrea Chávez, after the resolution of the internal disciplinary body.
In the same case is the local deputy for Sinaloa, Almendra Negrete, a member of the Morena CEN, and state government officials who were recently elected to local leadership portfolios.
The CNHJ had already called on those who perform double functions to leave some of the positions; however, last Monday, the national leader of Morena, Mario Delgado, stated during a press conference that he would intervene before that internal disciplinary body so that they would be allowed double
.
As CEN we are going to ask the Commission to help us in these cases, due to the importance that we are experiencing in the double court of the Legislative, that they allow us to work in the conditions that they have.
However, on Friday night, the CNHJ, which is chaired by Eloísa Vivanco Esquide, issued a resolution in which it warns that article 8 of the new statutes must be respected, which clearly indicates that the executive management bodies must not include authorities, officials or members of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial powers of the Federation, states and municipalities.
Those members of the Executive Management bodies of Morena who are in the normative assumption established in article 8 of the statute must fully comply with the internal regulation, they have the responsibility to separate themselves from the assignment that constitutes authority in a short time
establishes the agreement.
Those who find themselves in this situation are obliged to immediately inform the national, state or municipal leadership, the resolution emphasizes.
In this regard, Senator César Cravioto commented that it is the second document issued by the CNHJ and it is very important, because it made it clear that the directors do not fall under this prohibition and, in their case, they can continue with their responsibilities as legislators, because being congressmen or national and state councilors is not a position of popular election.
He explained that the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, who is also a counselor, is in a similar circumstance.
