Who was a candidate for the Diputación for the 1828 list of La Patriada has already started the tour inside the department.
In the live interview of THE PROFESSIONAL RADIO This Tuesday, March 18, Rafael Rivero He said that in his government program the culture will have a place for others. Among other things he proposed the creation of a regional cultural pole at the former Melo cinema premises.
“There are issues that are pending. The cultural is one of them. It worries me. I want to know what happened to Melo cinema. There I would like to make a regional cultural pole. It is not only from Melo or Cerro Largo, but the idea is to join 2 or 3 more departments to get this forward ” The candidate for the Intendance announced.
“I want to have a play in the cinema per month, I want it to be an area of dissemination for all cultural expressions” broad. “I have started asking and told me that Melo cinema is disarmed. I asked about the seats and nobody knows how to tell me where they are. They tell me that at one time a certain contribution came for this. We want Melo cinema as the cultural pole that this region needs ” reiterated.
“We are a land of poets and writers. Here was born Juana de Ibarbourou, from here many other referents of national literature came out, even worldwide recognized ” He pointed out.
“Culture is one of the points where we are going to work. We want to refloat it, we want to work it. Hopefully beyond we do not reach the intention, we can be to push that this issue comes out. We are willing to seek consensus among all sectors. To the Melo cinema you have to get it forward. It is everyone’s task ” Rivero said.
He said that in recent years Cerro Largo has lost foot in cultural matters. “I learned that the Spain Theater signed an agreement. Welcome to this. It is an institution that must remain standing. You have to fight for these things. How many people are today who want to write a book and do not have support ” The candidate for the Intendance for the Frente Amplio was asked.
More than a bump equipment
Rafael Rivero said he was worried about the state of the streets of the city of Melo. “There we have a project. We believe there must be more than one gang of bump. The capital city must be divided into at least two zones ” proposed.
“We have a concrete that will turn almost 100 years old. You have to take care of it. We must return to that cart with hot tar to cover the slots and prevent water from penetrating and ending it damaging it. Those things have to resume them. It is an issue that must be very clear ” express.
He also pointed to a better maintenance of new works. “Yes, two blocks are made of bitumen, you have to come back. We cannot expect it to break and then repair. Maintenance for us is key ” He stressed.
Waste collection and path recovery
“We are very worrying the waste collection. We must review the responsibilities, what are the companies or the company, determine which service is fulfilling and how it is fulfilling it. Everything must be reviewed ” He stressed. “The city is therefore growing will have to look for other methods for waste collection to make it more efficient.”
He considered the recovery of the paths fundamental. “We see this problem mainly in Melo. Many people with physical disabilities, who use wheelchair, must circulate along the street because the paths are not in good condition. It cannot be so. This was an issue that two neighbors raised us because it is worrying and we put it on the agenda ” Rafael Rivero said.
