The coordinator of the Program for Democratic Peace and Coexistence, Ernesto Villegas, accompanied by other members of this body, visited the facilities of the Bolivarian National Police Corps (Cpnb) in El Helicoide, with the purpose of coordinating actions aimed at social stability and coexistence in the country.
Villegas invited the police force to join the dialogue tables promoted by the commission together with various sectors of Venezuelan society, with the aim of constructing proposals that contribute to the strengthening of democratic coexistence. Likewise, he highlighted the importance of guaranteeing adequate facilities for the well-being of police officers, as well as their families and nearby communities.
Officials who were affected during acts of violence that occurred in 2014, 2017 and 2024 participated in the debate day. In this regard, Minister Villegas highlighted: “Listening to testimonies and proposals from PNB officials injured during acts of political violence, whose voice is also essential to hear for the construction of a Venezuela of peace and coexistence.”
There was also a tour of different renovated spaces of the PNB headquarters, including the Antonio Infante Theater, the Cilia Flores de Maduro Superior Commissioner, the Ruth Rangel Medical Center and the Hugo Rafael Chávez Police Historical Museum.
El Rodeo Rehabilitation
The Minister for the Penitentiary Service, Julio García, inspected the comprehensive rehabilitation works at the Rodeo Judicial Confinement Center, which are in their closing stage.
During the tour, the renovation of bedrooms, dining rooms, health areas and sports spaces was verified, in order to guarantee decent and healthy conditions for the prison population.
Likewise, this effort by the national executive seeks to reduce overcrowding and optimize internal control through safe and highly functional facilities.l
