The deputy and president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, led this Thursday a new meeting of the Program for Democratic Coexistence and Peacewith the participation of representatives from different opposition sectors. The initiative seeks to consolidate the great national dialogue, promoting tolerance and respect between political and social actors.
Rodríguez was accompanied by deputy Jorge Arreaza, the first vice president of the AN, Pedro Infante, and the second vice president, Grecia Colmenares, as well as delegates from opposition political organizations.
The meeting was held in compliance with the call of the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who urged to strengthen peace and national unity as a priority in the current political context.
National dialogue and participation of the opposition
The program seeks to integrate various political sectors in a dialogue process that allows differences to be overcome and progress towards consensus for the benefit of the nation. The presence of opposition representatives at the working table was highlighted as a step towards building trust and seeking joint solutions. Jorge Rodríguez stressed that democratic coexistence requires political rectification and willingness to understand, reiterating that the National Assembly is open to listening to all voices.

During the day, the first discussion of the Amnesty Bill for Democratic Coexistenceframed in article 104 of the Internal Regulations and Debates of the National Assembly.

The regulations seek to offer a legal framework that favors political and social reconciliation, guaranteeing rights and promoting peace. The debate included the participation of revolutionary and opposition deputies, who agreed on the importance of moving towards an instrument that allows overcoming tensions and opening spaces for cooperation.
Institutional commitment to peace
The acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, has insisted that peace and national unity must be priorities on the political agenda. In this sense, the Program for Peace and Coexistence is consolidated as an institutional space to channel proposals and strengthen participatory democracy. The National Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to continue dialogue with all sectors, with the aim of guaranteeing stability and moving towards a future of democratic coexistence.
