Despite being the most unpopular president in the worldhe Congress of the Republicwith 48 votes in favor, 28 against and one abstention, he granted permission to Dina Boluarte to travel to Japan and Indonesia between August 5 and 12. This new exit from the country will cost in concepts of passages and per diem, around S/465,624.07, not counting the expenses that Peruvians will pay for the head of state.
In this context, in an intervention in Arequipa of August 1, 2025, the Minister of Production, Sergio Gonzálezdefended the position of the president and indicated that Boluarte’s trip to these Asian countries is an opportunity to establish international businesses and strengthen exports, despite the serious institutional crisis and citizen security that Peru crosses.

“We consider the president’s trip as very important, very timely. Let’s keep in mind that one of the pillars of our economic growth are our exports,” said the minister, then emphasized that Boluarte represents Peru, not counting the 2% approval that leads in today’s society.
Production Minister alleges economic impulse, but no criticism
One of the arguments of Minister Sergio González, is that Boluarte’s trip would help to intertwine external policies and recover economic reactivation, what he called as a fundamental pillar. “Japan and Indonesia are very important markets not only on the fishing issue, but also in all the products we are exporting,” Gonzalez replied in his speech at the event for the National Alpaca Day.
“A moment ago we were with our Alpaqueros producers. What are we looking for as the Ministry of Production and Ministry of Agriculture?, That this important product as of the Alpaca fiber, one of the finest in the world, can reach this type of markets,” the minister exemplified.

Recall that the approval of this new departure permit for the president of Pizarro’s house was managed in the recent management of the current president of Congress, José Jeríof the political party we are Peru and denounced for sexual violence. With this approval, Boluarte will visit the cities of Osaka, Tokyo and Yakarta.
Travel activities
During his trip, Boluarte will visit the Universal Osaka-Kansai 2025 Expo in Japan, as part of the “Peru day”, which corresponds to cultural and economic promotion activity. Its participation is also included in the meeting of the Peruvian-Japonés Business Council (CEPEJA), in addition to meetings with other Japanese authorities.
In Indonesia, Boluarte will visit President Probowo Subianto on August 11, in the state of Yakarta. So far, the closure of the Integral Economic Association Agreement (CEPA) is expected, as well as the subscription of bilateral fishing agreements, fight against drug trafficking and forest cooperation.
