Production costs are three times higher in the US than in Mexico

Production costs are three times higher in the US than in Mexico

“How are you going to maintain a healthy production cost for companies? I have clients who tell me that the cost of production is three times higher than in Mexico, it is convenient for me to have the plants in Mexico and I am satisfied with the work that the employees in Mexico are doing,” Vieira said in an interview.

“Mexico is well positioned to be the world’s factory,” he assured.

Donald Trump announced on November 25 that will impose 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada until stopping the “invasion” of drugs and “illegal migrants” and will apply an additional 10% to China, on top of the existing ones for its products.

On his Truth Social network he made it clear that there will be no grace period, but rather that the measures will begin as soon as he returns to the White House.

“On January 20, as one of my first executive orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% tariff on ALL products entering the United States and its ridiculous open borders,” he wrote.

Raises capital for 120 million dollars

Tractian, currently valued at $720 million, recently raised capital for $120 million in a Series C round, which it plans to use to have a presence in the north of the country, as well as to increase the offering for its clients.

The uprising was led by Sapphire Ventures; NGP Capital, General Catalyst and Next 47 also participated, who had already participated in previous rounds.

“There was an indicator that attracted a lot of attention from the funds: the net revenue retention ratemeasures customer loyalty. Our clients are up 150%, that is, if Tractian closed all sales and marketing efforts today, it would continue to grow twice in size every two years due to the expansion of its own clients,” Leonardo Vieira stressed.

“We want to improve our operation and speed up product development. The idea now is to position the company as an industrial co-pilot. We want to reduce the bridge between man and machine at various points. Before we talked about anticipating failures. Now we go further; say what has to be done, work on integrated software and hardware solutions for monitoring operating conditions, operational management and predictive maintenance,” the manager explained.

To achieve this, in a period of between three and five years, he explained, they are planning to build a new research and development center in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

Among the company’s clients, which to date total 1,000 companies, are Bimbo, Cemex, Ford, Johnson Control, Caterpillar and John Deer.

“With Bimbo, for example, we work in more than 40 industrial plants; The 27 in Mexico, plus those in Chile, Guatemala and Portugal, already use the solution that was created in Mexico,” Vieira concluded.
