Produces: Budget for next year amounts to S/ 887.1 million

The Minister of Production, , reported that next year’s fiscal resources for its sector amount to 887.1 million soles. Of which 314.3 million soles will be allocated to investment projects in organizations such as the National Fisheries Development Fund (Fondepes), the Technological Institute of Production (ITP), the National Fisheries Health Agency (Sanipes) and the Institute of the Sea of Peru (Imarpe).

During his presentation before Congress, the head of Produce explained that for fiscal year 2023, the distribution of the budget by specification, evidence that Produce as a central administration has 441.6 million soles, followed by the Technological Institute of Production with 151 million soles, Fondepes with 114.4 million, Imarpe with 92.2 million, sanipes with 53.8 million and Inacal with 34.2 million.

At a functional level, fishing and industry in the production sector represent 35% and 24% respectively of the total budget for 2023, in terms of functions related to planning, management and social projection, it amounts to 34% due to the execution of the ProInnóvate and Pnipa loan contracts.

This allocation of budget priorities has the objective of contributing to the development of the human and technical capacities of all the social actors involved, mainly the most vulnerable populations, related to artisanal fishing, industry, and small and medium-sized companies.”, indicated Eduardo Mora.

Investments for 2023

Regarding the investments of the sector for the year 2023, the minister highlighted the following projects.

  • Construction and equipping of the artisanal fishing landing, Puerto Morín – Virú province, La Libertad region with S/ 10.1 million.
  • Improvement of the commercialization service of the Belén market, Iquitos – province of Maynas with S/ 17.6 million.
  • Comprehensive improvement of the Huacho artisanal fishing landing, Lima region with S/ 8.3 million.
  • Creation of technological innovation promotion services for the value chain of textile products of domestic camelids in the departments of Puno, Arequipa, Cusco, Huancavelica, Ayacucho and Apurímac with S/ 4.1 million.
  • Improvement of the governance of the national innovation system in fishing and aquaculture with S/ 5.4 million.
  • Improvement of the services of the artisanal fishing landing stage Puerto Huarmey, Ancash with S/ 18.3 million.
  • Improvement and expansion of productive innovation services and technological transfer of processed fruit, vegetable, legume and cereal products (blueberries, passion fruit, pineapple, pepper, chili, chia, quinoa and dairy) in the Chavimochic industrial cite, Virú district – department of La Libertad with S/ 7.4 million.
  • Improvement of the levels of productive innovation at the national level with S/ 97 million.

These main investments for the year 2023 represent 53.5 of the investment budget for that year, which amounts to S/ 314.3 million, always aimed at generating investment that generates public value for the benefit of all citizens.”, concluded Minister Mora Asnarán.
